Asylum Seekers in Australia meme

I'm starting off the blog with my "Asylum" series.

I am so sick of seeing those green eposters which read "Seeking asylum is a human right". Technically, they are correct, but they are dismally simplistic, and fail to take into account the myriad of issues which impact the poor and homeless in relation to asylum seekers, and how the drain on resources, which is already thinly stretched, is even more so when we take in people without the sufficient means to provide for them.

What ends up happening, it the asylum seekers get taken care of, and the poverty stricken Australians just get less and less with every boat load. The government won't reduce the help asylum seekers receive because they have loud-mouthed, pushy lobby groups to help them. Poor or homeless Australians have very little in the way of advocacy.
